World Youth Sillks Day - 2020
Dear Co-ordinator,
It gives me an immense pleasure to write about World Youth Skills Day 2020.
The importance of developing skilled youth is at the core of this year’s message for World Youth Skills Day.
World Youth Skills Day 2020 will take place in a challenging context. The COVID-19 pandemic and lockdown measures have led to the worldwide closure of technical and vocational education and training (TVET) institutions, threatening the continuity of skills development.
National Council of Vocational and Research Training (NCVRT) can equip youth with the skills required to access the world of work, including skills for self-employment. Vocational Education can also improve responsiveness to changing skill-demands by companies and communities. TVET can also offer skills development opportunities for low-skilled people who are under- or unemployed, out of school youth and individuals not in education, employment and training.
In post-COVID-19 societies, as young people are called upon to contribute to the recovery effort, they will need to be equipped with the skills to successfully manage evolving challenges and the resilience to adapt to future disruptions.
Sincerely
Director General
National Council of Vocational and Research Training,
New Delhi

INTERNATIONAL YOGA DAY -2020
Dear Co-ordinator,
Greetings from the National Council of Vocational and Research Training, New Delhi. It is a privilege to write to you against the backdrop of the International Day of Yoga (NCVRT-IDY) on 21st June,2020.
The theme for International Yoga Day 2020 is Yoga for Health - Yoga at Home. According to the United Nations, while social distancing measures to fight the COVID-19 pandemic have shut down yoga studios, practitioners have turned to home practice and online resources. The theme highlights that yoga is a powerful tool to deal with stress of uncertainty and isolation and helps maintaining physical well-being. As June 21st is International Yoga Day, Prepare yourself, Students and Family to do Yoga with the world.
Sincerely
Director General
National Council of Vocational and Research Training,
New Delhi.
